OXEGEN 2009 Early Bird Tickets On Sale 8th August.
OXEGEN has teamed up with Europe’s biggest music broadcaster MTV to bring fans over 63 hours of exclusive action from this year’s festival. With some fantastic live performances from OXEGEN 08, interviews with the stars and all the atmosphere and buzz from Punchestown, keep it tuned to MTV and VHI 1 all week.
And to celebrate The OXEGEN Week on MTV, the promoters have announced that the first early-bird tickets will be available for OXEGEN 09 via an Exclusive Priority ticket pre-sale for registered users through www.oxegen.ie. OXEGEN returns to Punchestown Racecourse, Naas, Co Kildare from 10th-12th July 2009 ( subject to licence ).
A limited number of early-bird 3 day weekend with camping tickets for OXEGEN 09 at 2008 ticket prices will go on sale to registered users from 8am, Friday 8th August until 7am, Friday 15th August.
Tic! kets, held at 2008 prices, are priced €224.50 ( including booking fee ) and are limited to four per person with a free car park space available for every four tickets booked. Once again, fans will also have the chance to camp on Thursday night by purchasing a Thursday Camping Ticket for an additional €20. Once the OXEGEN registered users priority pre-sale closes, a limited number of weekend with camping tickets go on early-bird sale nationwide from 9am Friday 15th August at 2008 prices.
MTV coverage of OXEGEN 08 begins this Friday August 1st on MTV 2 at 7pm. The show will feature highlights of Kings Of Leon’s stunning headline set at Friday’s OXEGEN as well as performances from Kaiser Chiefs, Panic At The Disco and The Raconteurs. There are also exclusive interviews with Saturday night’s headliners REM, Ian Brown, We Are Scientists and MGMT.
MTV’s new presenter Fred Blood-Royale will also bring viewers a flavour of the famous Pun! chestown atmosphere by mingling with the OXEGEN crowd to get a fan’s-eye-view of the festival. Over on VH1 from 9pm, fans can catch the best of crowd pleasing sets from REM and The Verve.
On Saturday August 2nd, VH1’s OXEGEN Special at 5pm has performances and interviews with Scouting For Girls, The Hoosiers, Newton Faulkner and Manic Street Preachers. Additional performances from Editors, Kaiser Chiefs, REM and The Verve round off this one-hour special.
