The Dead Weather to play in Montreux
Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs) and Alison Mosshart (The Kills) met during their common tour in the USA in 2008. A few times the singer Mosshart filled in for White, who struggled with an persistent bronchitis. The chemistry between the musicians was instantaneous. Still on tour, White, Mosshart, the bassist Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs) and the guitarist Dean Fertita (Queens Of The Stone Age) decided to record an album. This prolific cooperation generated in 2009 the first release: “Horehound”. The second album will be released in Switzerland on May 7th: “Sea of Cowards”. Their alternative Rock glows with dark melodies and hard riffs.
They both performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2008 with their respective bands. This year they will rock the Miles Davis Hall together. With The Dead Weather, one of the most hyped rock bands is to play in Montreux. This year’s Miles Davis Hall program is now complete.
