ALL TOMORROW'S PARTIES UK 2009 ON SALE NOW! VERY LIMITED DEPOSIT PAYMENT SCHEME AVAILABLE NOW WEEKEND ONE: THE FANS STRIKE BACK - All Tomorrow's Parties would like to announce that for Weekend 1 in May 2009 The Fans get a chance to prove themselves once more by curating half the line-up in, "The Fans Strike Back". The event, which will take place from the 8th 10th May at Butlins Holiday Resort will see half of the festival line-up chosen by ATP and the other half voted for by everyone that buys a ticket. To make things more interesting, we've decided that at least for the first round of voting, which opens on Monday November 17th (next week!), no bands can be picked that have ever played a UK ATP event before! If you want to plan ahead you can check out a list of bands you can't vote for on our site. The first bands chosen by ATP are: DEVO SLEEP performing Holy Mountain / selections from Dopesmoker + more SPIRITUALIZED (full band, not Acoustic Mainline which we are aware HAVE played before) GRAILS YOUNG MARBLE GIANTS perform Colossal Youth ANTIPOP CONSORTIUM Devo are one of the most important and successful post-punk bands and make a rare UK festival appearance for ATP. Legendary stoner rock band Sleep split up in 1998 after releasing two hugely influential albums. Members went on to form underground heroes High On Fire and Om. They reform for two performances at ATP as a world exclusive that will never be repeated. WEEKEND TWO: CURATED BY THE BREEDERS - All Tomorrow's Parties takes great pleasure in announcing that The Breeders have been chosen as curators for ATP Weekend 2 taking place in May 2009. Created by Pixies bassist Kim Deal in 1988, the band have released four stunning and influential albums including 1993's highly successful Last Splash which spawned the epoch-making single Cannonball' and most recently the acclaimed Mountain Battles. The Breeders will perform at ATP and will pick a bill of 40+ artists to join them. The event will take place from the 15th-17th May 2009 at Butlins Holiday Camp in Minehead, England. The line-up also includes the equally legendary Throwing Muses, astounding newcomer Bon Iver and cult Scottish pop-rock group Teenage Fanclub. Information on both festivals: Butlins Minehead looks out across a superb sandy beach. The site is equipped with a supermarket, newsagent, cash points and restaurants. Onsite facilities include a cinema, Splash Water World - a sub-tropical environment that has a huge wave pool, a swimming pool, 3 flumes and also a flume based raft ride - Ten-pin bowling and amusement arcade. Sports include Archery, Football, Basketball, Darts, Petanque, Fencing, Kwik Cricket, Netball, Rounders, Table Tennis, Outdoor Bowls and Crazy Golf. Room Only accommodation is available in 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 berths and offers either double, single or bunk beds with private bathroom and TV, but no kitchen facilities or lounge, more like a hotel room. (£150 + booking fee per ticket) Self Catering accommodation is available in 4, 6 and 7 berths and offers private bathroom, full kitchen facilities and separate lounge area with TV. This is not one to miss, and sure to be talked about by those who attend for a long time afterwards! We've also just announced a very special Christmas show from Tindersticks at London's incomparable Union Chapel on December 16th, and a return to the UK for Animal Collective who will play Koko on January 12th.
